Every second there are more images being shot with a smartphone than with a DSLR. Did I hear a hurrah? You might as well because this proves something fundamental – photography is no longer limited to heavier, pricier and more “advanced” cameras.
The smartphone may lack many of the features that are commonplace on a DSLR or for that matter, even a point and shoot; longer optical zoom, optical viewfinder, manual exposure control, changeable lens and of course a larger sensor size. But what it lacks in terms of size and optical ability it more than makes up with convenience, portability and the ability to share images instantaneously.
